Sometimes other characters are there to spice up things but again, it's always the same thing. Bully comes and tries to demean Nishimura, Taiyou misunderstands cause' he's a chunni. The only character who seems to have no ill intentions towards Taiyou or Nishimura is Hino whose only gag is that he likes sport and tank tops.
It's light hearted but not very funny. It's a nice bit of sweetnes for a dark day but if you try to watch multiple episodes at once you'll get a sugar overdose.
But in the end it's still neat if you really like slice of life with an innocent romance theme. I'd say check out the first two episodes at least if that's something you typically enjoy.
