Mixed Feelings
"Bitter Medicine." A term I don't often use but a show like this is suited for it. It means that something should leave you feeling better despite the horrible taste in your mouth.

I experienced that with Rankin Bass / JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit." I experienced that with "The Beast (of War)," an 80's war flick about a Russian tank and it's crew lost in Afghanistan during their war. And now I've experienced it with #6.

Well... I don't know if I should be glad or regret seeing it. But it's definitely not aimed towards the slobbering otaku-base. It's electrifyingly "buddy-cop banter" but it's tragically tragic at the same time.

I mean... A future where people live in mega-advanced, enclosed societies. The people on the outside of the walls surviving the best way they can. And [I'm kinda saddened that the Wu-Tang Clan and their affiliates had been knocked out their prime by the crap music we're hearing today] Killer Bees! Literally.

I still like Nicholas Cage. Whether it's as Ghost Rider who's now in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, or that poor guy who's tortured by the bees in Wicker Man.

But if you go into this anime expecting to like a character or pick a favorite. Expect to be disappointed. A LOT. No, here's a better way to say it: Don't expect your favorite character to stay in your cozy "psychological pigeon hole" for (too) long.
