Not as good as the original Kantai Collection but it does take itself much more seriously.
Does the story really progress? Yes
Does it end in the way you want it to end? Not really.
The show is great for combat and looks fantastic but it lacks a conclusion apart from a half-arsed montage of what seems like a time jump or a view of a different world or something. Shigure whilst a cute character doesn't replace Fubuki at all.
The art is fantastic and I love the animation of the show.
The sound is meaningful and combat sounds great.
The characters most of whom we have seen before are the same old but with a much darker feeling to the show. This was needed but also it lost some of the fun of ship girls.
Overall, the ending was not what I expected but despite this, it is a pretty okay show. Seems like this was a nail in the show ending it forever. I am going to miss the ship girls, plane girls, and other such types of shows in the future.
