The premise of the story is interesting and unique, which immediately grabs the reader's attention. The idea of being punished for a crime by being forced to fight in a never-ending war is a terrifying concept that makes the reader question the morality of the society in which the story takes place. The author, Shoukai Rocket, does an excellent job of building this world and creating a sense of urgency and danger.
However, while the premise is intriguing, the execution of the story can sometimes feel lacking. The characters, while distinct, can sometimes feel flat and underdeveloped. The pacing of the story can also be slow at times, which can make the reading experience feel tedious.
Despite these flaws, the novel does have its strengths. The action scenes are well-written and engaging, and the fantasy elements of the story are imaginative and creative. The art, done by Mephisto, is also beautiful and complements the story well.
I would give Yuusha-kei ni Shosu: Choubatsu Yuusha 9004-tai Keimu Kiroku a 6 out of 10. While the premise and world-building are strong, the execution of the story and character development can be lacking. However, the action scenes and fantasy elements make the novel an enjoyable read, and the art is stunning.
