Ah yeah...
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable.
A part of Jojo, that has many genres in itself.
A shounen with some supernatural, mystery, slice of life and a tint of comedy mixed together, creates this absolute great Part.
Since I have become invested in Jojo, Part 4 was one of the things that got me the most.
But why was or is that?
Well, let's find out.
Grab a drink or some snacks, and have fun reading!
Story 9/10:
So, the story begins with our old Jojo, Jotaro, arriving in a small town in Japan, called "Morioh".
He searches for Josuke Higashikata, the illegitamite son of Joseph Joestar, basically his uncle. (lol)
Morioh is a quiet and nice place, but there is a major problem. People are going missing constantly and nobody knows why.
They soon will realise that there are multiple stand users in this quiet town and have to find out how they got the stands, and why people are going missing.
The story is something really refreshing. Not the constant "Oh no, the world is gonna get overtaken or destroyed, so now let's go and defeat this monster.", but something where isn't much at stake as World domination. The goal of clearing the darkness inside Morioh and the progression of the story in the later episodes is fantastic.
A very, very, very good story!
Pacing 8,9/10
The pacing was really good. Except some episodes, like the "Rock Paper Sciccors Fight" here weren't much episodes you should have left out, as well as the Cinderella episode was important afterwards. And in the later episodes, it's just absolutely great. The pacing is definetely one of the best in the whole series.
Characters 9,5/10:
The characters are just so unbelievably good, I can't describe it in words.
Josuke is such a cool Jojo, like a mix of the first three Jojo's. He has one of the coolest Stands in the series and he is just so enjoying to watch.
Okuyasu is just an absolute funny and badass character and fits Josuke perfectly.
Koichi is a really great supporting character, who is reliable, badass and kind.
Rohan is probably the most interesting and coolest character from the first named three. A mangaka with a stand ability that can turn people into books. And even though he seems tough on the outside, he has a soft core on the inside.
Jotaro still being Jotaro and now being like a mentor to Josuke is just absolutely cool and greatly adapted!
And don't get me started on Kira, he nearly carried the whole last section of the Part.
So badass, so refreshing, so good written. Unbelievable.
Music 9,9:
Music, like in Part 3 absolutely insanely good. Still not better as Part 2 though.
Josuke's, Okuyasu's, Kira's and even some generic themes, like "Irreversable Sadness" are astonishing. By far some of the best OST's in AniManga.
Animation 8/10:
I did really like the animation, but there still were some problems which mostly occured in the early section of the Part, which were fastly fixed the longer the story progressed. And in the last five episodes, the animation was just gorgeous.
Art 9,5/10:
Do I have anything to say on this matter?
The art style change from Araki was a really good desicion and DP just done it justice yet again, and how hard they did.
Jojo's art will always be great, change my mind.
Fights 9,5/10:
The fights were, as in the second season of Part 3, absolutely astonishing and great.
Araki really thought about the abilities of the stands who will fight and always kept the fights interesting.
Though, there were fights, like the "Surface" fight, that I didn't really care about and weren't that spectacular. Still really, really great fights in this part!
Enjoyment 10/10:
Definetely a 10/10.
It was funny, interesting, heart breaking, exciting, badass, etc.
Like everything perfectly mixed together.
Never have I ever had such fun on watching something.
It definetely was satisfying and enjoying to watch.
Could only recommend!
Overall 9,5/10:
Jojo's Part 4 is like the second season of Part 3, one of the best Animes of all time.
It's refreshing, exciting, etc., etc.
I think I've mentioned enough.
This is the point where Jojo's Bizarre Adventure really took off as one of the best series of all time.
Still, there where some minor problems. That's why it's no 10/10, but definetely worthy of it, if some things would have been handled better.
Unkreativer, over and out.
Thanks for reading this review! :D
It will probably take a while for the Part 5 review, as a friend of mine just watches it in our native language and Part 5 hasn't been out yet. So I'll wait a bit for the Part 5 review, hope you will be there again! ^^
