I really don't know where to begin with this.

You know, at first it was just poking fun, haha ironic kind of humor, and a sense of slef-knowledgment in regards to the original concept that the show itself offers us. With an over-the-top main character, with OP magic in a generic Isekai plot, surrounded by women, and wanting to be the most powerful being for his own goals. I admit that, I myself am an Isekai enjoyer - for whatever is worth. But The Eminence of Shadow, is just so... FUN.

At first you start thinking that it will al be a parody and a satire take on the all-so-terrible Isekai genre - and by all means it is just that - but as the story moves forward, and you peek into the stories that are being told behind all the jokes and skits: there's really something amazing about this.

At first I thought it was just fun, but then it became pure HYPE. Fuck man, Cid is just so comically COLD. It tickles the part of my brain that one day thought about being the most powerful being in the whole universe, and what I would do with it. And although I am not saying that I would be exactly as Cid is in this anime, I really love and enjoy the take the writers gave him.

Fights are gorgeous, the animation is just right, the characters are interesting and thought-provoking.
The way Cid tries to hide his true powers and intentions is just so God damn hilarious.
I laughed my ass of in some instances, and in others I was gripping the end of my seat wanting to see more and more.

Truly an unexpected -- but welcomed -- surprise for this season.
Can't wait to see what awaits us for the next season and truly doubting if I should read the manga.
