Preliminary (119/? chp)
So, I gave this series a score of (7) good, but in truth I'm not too sure if I would actually consider it "good". However, I do want to know what happens next. CSM keeps me interested and every week I'm looking forward to what happens next.

CSM is a bit of a mixed bag. It's very gory, not too coherent, it's slightly sexy, slightly funny, slightly interesting with its dialogue... and if somebody were to ask me "what is definitively GOOD about CSM?" I don't think I'd be able to say right away. I'm really interested in what sensei is going to come up with next, rather than what is actually going on in CSM would probably the best way to describe my odd feeling with this series.

However, I do think part 2 is getting better in these aspects, and my personal theory is that sensei is given more creative freedom after moving the series to Jump+. Ironically while CSM is known for its gory art and violence, it gets to a point where too much of it makes it dull. There is a balance of story, violence, and character development in part 2 CSM that looks to be better and more promising than part 1, and my guess is that Fujimoto-sensei also sees this as a chance to right the ship now that there is less of a stylistic constraint (the Shonen Jump style) to the series now.
