Preliminary (4/54 eps)
Digimon Adventure, one of the greatest series I ever grew up watching. The original idea behind this show was "12 episodes, quick marketing with toys" which quickly digi-volved into a grand 57 Episode series, which spawned many more seasons even after the whole toys thing didn't pan out. What pulled people in wasn't the Average animation and plain low budget background or gosh darn horrid music that you won't ever remember since, like a video game, never shuts up but isn't loud enough for you to actualy complain.

The part that made this so great, was the characters.
with the 7(eventualy 8) Protaganists, it's hard to not relate to at least one of them, and as many will agree, while the initial characters look like your basic Stereotypes, from the Cool kid, Nerd, Tomboy, Valley Girl, and Glasses guy, quickly evolves into a host of relatable characters and we realize why stereotypes exist. From Tai and Matt, the "overprotective older brothers" who, with different personallities show how different people can be at the same role. To Izzy the computer geek, while coming across as the average nerd who wants to know everything, is revealed to have small, but deep and emotional problems that cause him to act the way he does.
Once the second arc kicks in, it's hard to not be sucked into the great writing. Adding the parents into the lives of the children was possibly he greatest thing! The kids relate to similar kids, but add in parents for them to relate too!? Thats just a whole new level! The Parents in Digimon are more than fixtures to move the plot, from the divorced couple, the perfect parents, and the loving, yet secretive. You knew these parents were every bit as human as your own, and you loved them for it.

The Villans.......what can be said? They are Evil Monsters INTENT ON WORLD DOMINATIIOOOOOON! They have neat designs and very shallow reasons...but this show is intended for young children, so thats a bit reasonable. Myotismon, the famed Vampire and main Antaganist of the second Arc isn't known for his troubled past, he's known for wanting to take over the Earth, getting to the Earth, and Kiling anybody who got in his way, or failed to serve him. Showing that Brutallity does indeed bring the world to it's knees, and it's up to some Might Digimon to stop him!

The Action is standard, PUNCH, KICK, SPECIAL ATTACK, DODGE! Nothing really worth noting, yet the monster Designs? YES! It's not as unique or famed as Pokemon, but Kids want Awesome, and Dinosaurs, Wolves, Flame-Birds, and Giant Beetles are exactly what they want. overall you go in, kill the badguy, rescue the Towns People, and fight the next villan, it ain't broke, so they don't fix it.

The Final Word however, goes into Story, and the Story while Generic, isn't broken. You start with "kids lost in wonderland" with the first Arc, but quickly go into "I'm home, and a Vampire is holding my Mom Hostage" Overall, the plot isn't the focus, the Writing is, and thats where the draw lies.

To finish this Review off, the most memorable thing here are the small details key episodes bring out. the Believable personallities of 8 Characters simply talking amongst themselves, The Difference between the Real and Digital world is Dramatic simply from a Color Swap, from Bright to a Dull, mood changing tone. The Key Dramatic moments that even the Horrible people who hacked the Show to Censored English Bits knew they couldn't remove, thats how much impact they leave.
If I showed you just those Scenes you'd know how much of an impact this show can have, and we have plenty of them!

It's for Kids, Kids will love it, and once you've seen it, you'll know why I still remember those amazing moments 11 Years later as I rewatch just to catch them agian.
