Mixed Feelings
Mazinger Angels is actually quite a bold take on Go Nagai's properties. It's essentially his main Mazinger Robots piloted by hot chicks, with female robots. A variety of Nagai's other cast appear with the obvious Devilman and Cutie Honey, but even Dororon Enma Kun, and a Maou Dante reference. There is even a God Mazinger, isekai mini-arc for the God Mazin fans like myself. The series has everything the oirignal Mazinger had, except with more camp, blended with the ecchi of Cutie Honey.

The arc is alright, but sadly the best part are actually the post volume drawings of robot innards that are incredibly complex, interesting to look at, and filled with information. It's a shame a few more impact panels didn't show off the authors arc, but I'm sure with a serialization like this there was time pressure associated with it, and these drawings were from a pre-serial phase.

This manga is reliably consistent with Go Nagai's style, which is it's greatest strength but also it's greatest flaw. While the audience is certainly not looking for much more than a typical Go Nagai work, I always bemoan the opportunity to tell a wider, more interesting narrative in a work like this rather than simply playing with Nagai's database.
