Summertime Render is a mystery thriller that grabs your attention and does not let go. It is well paced, has a complex story, great characters, a stellar cast, and amazing animation to back it up. It also does well to always introduce new elements into the mix without creating that sense of "plot bs" that a viewer feels when elements are introduced poorly.
Summertime render excels at constructing this narrative that makes it hard to get bored. Things that would be repetitive are completely removed, and it does not feel like there is any time wasted when watching.
The soundtrack is well done, and the opening and ending songs are really catchy. They definitely budgeted a little when it came to the first OP and ED, but the music quality for both did not. It is a bit of a shame that it was not animated much, but any viewer can see that they did not budget for the main story at all. The second OP and ED both sound and look amazing though, so look out for that.
The ending can be a little controversial. Personally, I found it a tiny bit frustrating, but many may love it. Nevertheless, the ride is unique and definitely worth a watch. There are a lot of details and qualities about this show that make it such an easy recommendation. If you love mystery, thrillers, a complex story, and watching a show where you feel like you have to rewind in order to catch every detail - this is the show for you.
