Mixed Feelings
Forgotten memories and a whole lot of tragedy. I'm really unsure what to make of Kanon. While watching I was never bored, as a matter of fact I was very invested in the story (at least past episode 10, the first 10 episodes are very slow). It isn't quite the tear jerker that some make it out to be and like some of the bad reviews have said it tries to emotionally manipulate the viewer almost exactly like some of the other works by Key. But I can't deny that Kanon brings a heartwarming, melancholy feeling that can really put one at ease. Kanon isn't a much watch, for most watching Clannad would be the better choice and could just leave Kanon alone. But for those who are willing to to get lost in a story, even if its not perfect. There is something here that is worth seeing.
