The main character, Boruto, is a real pain but we can see him growing.
Yes, definitely, it is a cash grab thing, it doesnt have the same authenticity Naruto had in the past and a lot of characters are not well written or not written at all.

There is a lot of filler, story takes a loonnnggg time before being "active" and interesting, but it may be worth it. I'm at 170 ish episodes right now.
