Ergo Proxy is a psychological sci-fi thriller anime with amazing art and sound. Well, in my book that sounds about perfect. But is it, really?
The first 2 or 3 episodes kept me on the edge of my seat but after that, the show became more slow paced (but still entertaining) till episode 20 when i presume the guys in charge realised they've got only 3 more episode to finish the story and began throwing all kinds if information at the public. I guess they've told themselves:" it's minfuck, it doesn't all need to make sense, let's throw some more french and latin lines to dazzle the public!".
I didn't care much about the filler episodes either, the space could have been used to better develop the plot; the Smile Land episode was completely unnecesarry and the Quizz episode was kind of a rip off.
Though i've enjoyed the show, what really bugs me about Ergo Proxy it's that it never reaches it's true potential. It could have been a true gem, all the elements were there.
