That being said I'm never not down for an easy comedy that gets absolutely real asf for about one line each episode. Disregarding the one ep that's entirely about boobs and bras and tits and stuff, there's often a hint of bored melancholy in this show, somewhere way way under the surface. It manages to strike a really nice tone, with the relatable depressing stuff being present every once in a while, but never distracting from the fact that it's still a comedy all the way through. All the references and quiet moments and absurd shit blends together to make an excellent show that I enjoyed much more than I expected to. Especially considering like half the jokes probably flew over my head.
The 8th grade syndrome girl tweeting to her 7 followers draws cool parallels with the mc, who dances across the fine line between believing she's destined to be famous for her god-given artistic talents vs convincing herself it's pointless to even try. The other, much stupider mc refuses to accept that she might actually have to grow to achieve what she wants in life. Very entertaining character dynamics, but for me a lot of the comedy came from how soul-redingly relatable these ideas are. And then the show will hit you with an extraordinarily goofy joke before you have time to think too hard about it.
That's all pretty much besides the point though, cause 95% of the show is just a fun comedy. I could've gone for more like 90% though.
