There is no need to read from start to finish, you can pick up where ever you want and get a few laughs.
It's not too funny knowing that it is based on a gag manga which becomes serious later on. So most of the funnies may be around the Cell Saga or Frieza fight.
It's all Chibi too to hit home that this is its own "universe".
If you like these kinds of scenes, you may enjoy it.
If you are a Dragon Ball fan, you still won't miss out reading this even for the funnies. They get repetitive quick even if the same joke isn't repeated. They just aren't clever.
Self aware humor can be funny but not in a way portrayed in this manga to the point you get excited for the next feature.
