I really wanted to enjoy this show. It looked right up my alley with all the other isekai I've been watching recently and the first couple episodes were pretty much what I was looking for. In fact, if it had ended after the first ten episodes I would have been satisfied.
However it doesn't. While I won't get into any details, Log Horizon falls into the same trap that Reincarnated as a Slime's second season does: talking. I'm fine with the MC being a strategist and for the story to be mostly planning but especially after episode 10 everything starts to move at a snail's pace. The same jokes are used time and time again and the plot barely even progresses. There is no sense of action, confrontation, or urgency.
The concepts of the show are very cool, the characters are a little generic but have fun quirks, and the animation is average. The world building is cool and the way NPCs are shown in the show is another very interesting topic. By all means, if you enjoy isekais that are a bit more talking and a little less action, then this could be your cup of tea. But it's not mine.
