Review in English and Spanish/ Opinion en Ingles y español:

Nasty taste in my mouth:
Spoilers: from the middle of the story onwards I started to be disappointed. I mean, him staying with her and not reporting to the police, etc., already seems crazy to me, but I liked the fact that in the beginning he seemed genuinely not interested (romantically) in her, but helping her, and I applauded that. That there was a mentor/mentee relationship. I would have liked if that relationship between them had developed, to bring out a brotherhood between them... but no... eventually he had to fall for her..... Seriously, I hate the "lolita" complex. It's just disgusting. I had hoped that they wouldn't end up together, but as great friends. But that was asking too much from the show... it's creepy. I kept watching the series to see what resolution they would give it but, as I say, I was disappointed. I know it's fiction, but in any case it seems to me a pretty sickening topic, and that is been already very trite, and I would have thought the same if the sexes had been reversed (if an female adult had given shelter to a teenage boy). In other words, it seems that there is nothing else in the world but the possibility of developing loving feelings towards someone you live with?.... I mean, there are millions more relationships that are much less exploited and that I would have liked to see on screen. Something that would have been genuine, not the usual cliché. Having desires with minors is not okay. It's grooming, in real life and in fiction. Why couldn't the guy have hooked up with someone his own age? There were 2 girls more than willing to do it, and besides, he was in love with one of them, so why couldn't he conceive the idea that the teenager could live with him and he could have a girlfriend at the same time?.... Another crazy thing about the series is that all the adults around the main character seem to "induce/encourage" him to develop a relationship with the minor... it's just crazy... insane. Seriously, terrible resolution. Also, it's interesting that, at no point, was any psychologist asked to help the poor girl, who clearly needed it. Mental problems don't end when you "try hard"... the guy was an office employee, not a psychologist.... Of course you can provide support to someone, but that's all... when there are traumas it is necessary to call for specialists... even the brother doesn't bother to provide specialized support, and they are loaded... anyway, the story has no sense. Not to mention that, at times in the series, when issues such as mental health or trauma are discussed, they show us the girl's boobs or ass... no comment! Finally, the show is not very helpful for anything other than spending/passing your time (and, in my case, to make me sick) as it romanticizes/glorifies thorny issues and I think it's really not good that we continue with these old clichés, I mean: average guy "the savior" and the student (although she doesn't go to school throughout the series) "misguided/damsel in distress to save". Seriously, I think this series does a disservice to anyone who watches it. I watched it thinking I'd find something else but ended up watching the usual old clichés..... buh!
