From the very first episode I started watching after seeing a clip of the show from Retro Crush, I could tell this show would be something special. The isolation as presented by the framing in the first episode did a fantastic job of introducing our main character. From the end of the first episode, the show could be considered a bit of a "slow burner", that is, until you understand everything that's going on. The show is constantly introducing new terms up until about halfway through, and at that point, you look back and suddenly understand everything that's happened up to that point.

It's an isekai mystery that evolves into an epic done perfectly, with the best writing of female characters I have genuinely ever seen from any piece of media. The character development in the series can best be described in one word: "growth". A lot of that growth comes from interactions with a fantastic little rat.

Honestly, I hesitate to refer to the series as an "isekai" purely because of what that term has come to be associated with. But the many blunders of your standard isekai won't be found here. This isn't a power fantasy, this isn't a harem show, this is an incredible story featuring the intertwining plots of many well-developed and interesting characters that all comes together in the end to create something beautiful.

And as the comments have stated previously, yes, the show ends early - and by god, it will leave you wanting more. :>
