It's hard to put into words what made me actually take the time and effort to make this review, but if I had to, it'd go something like this: I've seen several reviews about how the show's characters and plot conveniences are bad. And these people always have the same general idea: "Demon Slayer is carried by its animation." To which I, and probably the vast majority of people watching this anime, respond "Ok, and? Is that a problem?"

Most people watch anime for one of two things: fantastic fight scenes with art and design that blows them away, or character-driven plots that make you feel strong emotions. If you watch this show, it's for the former of the two. Demon Slayer doesn't have a super outstanding story. I know, hot take. Just generic characters with a somewhat generic story, with a couple of interesting ideas that never seemed to fully captivate me. It's not something to write home about, just some run-of-the-mill shounen. But for me, and the probably million or so other people watching this anime, they just want to see a group of samurais slice the heads off of a group of demons. It doesn't matter if the story is mid. This anime is just like Marvel movies. Their plots are (usually) never anything outstanding, yet the movies make hundreds of millions of dollars in the box office with every movie. Why? BECAUSE THEY HAVE AMAZING FIGHT SCENES WITH GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS! That's what Demon Slayer does best, and Ufotable truly brought movie-level production to this season. And that's all the fans ever wanted. So if you're looking to watch some brain-numbing, heart-racing, action-packed fight scenes, I could not recommend a better anime.
