I have watched almost all the studio Ghibli movies and this was one of the movies I loved so much after a few minute into it. The connection between the 10 year old self with the 27 year old self was outstanding and she understanding her childhood must have left an impression on me too. As a lover of the genre; slice of life, I find these types of anime quite addicting since it sort of feel like reality to me where I can include myself in the storyline at some points.
The movie was not sad but at the end I was almost crying. It gives you mixed emotions, all within a few hours.
Anyhow, "this is really underrated", is the first feeling I got after finishing the movie. The ending was really satisfying and overall the movie was beautiful !! Do not hesitate to give it a try!! I hope you won't regret it!!
