To be honest, most of the manwha is hit or miss romance fare. But when the emotional beats of the story hit, most of them hit hard. There are certain highlights here and there in the overall story, but I've re-read the last 20 or so chapters more times than I can count. The climax and ending of this manwha is what elevates it for me above most other romance stories, and if you don't want to read the whole manwha, I recommend the beginning and end for anyone interested.

I would go into more detail, especially in regards to how well the main character's friendships are handled from start to finish, but I don't want to include any spoilers.

And while some stories may just use the main character being non-human as a gimmick, her being a vampire is inextricably linked to her identity and society around her. In many cases, I found her dealing with the pressures of keeping her identity a secret much more gripping than the romance plot.

If anything, the main weak points would probably be the male love interest and the "villain" at the end. His relationship with Mari was kind of hard to follow sometimes, and as for the villain, I'm still not 100% sure what their motivation was. One minute they acted a certain way, then bam, complete 180.

Overall, if you're here for the romance, I think you'll like what you see. But calling it just a romance story would be selling it short in many ways.
