This movie is very special to me and I would recommend it to anyone, not just anime watchers. The animation and soundtrack are top-tier, but Koe no Katachi is more than meets the eye. It is a story about forgiveness and redemption, about friendship and self-acceptance. It shows how childhood bullying can change the lives of the victim and the bully. But not just theirs. There are other people who reacted to the bullying in different ways and we see how it affects their relationships when they are older. This movie is primarily about fighting depression and overcoming your past. If you are able to see yourself in Shota or Nishimiya, I think you will like it a lot.
