I feel like Gentiane is a good addition to the story, Shikikan has too big of a role to be a silent protagonist. Even the game realized it later, introducing responses in story, and chibi version of commander in dormitory.
The first episode sets up relationship of Team AR somewhat better than the game, but pacing is a bit too slow. Which is especially bad because Girls Frontline had a pretty average start, and got really good later on.
Animation is my biggest dissapointment. Not a lot of CGI, but a lot of weird looking shots, janky animation, and a lot of fights are just showing bullets falling, and muzzle flashing, for longer than feels right.
I enjoy it so far, but I'm afraid it won't be good enough to get the second Season, and GFL really only gets truely great at point that is definitly not being adapted in first Season.
