At the time of writing, Season 2 (which covers a good arc in the manga) has yet to be adapted.

(If I'm referring to the mangaka I will use they/them pronouns because of the potential they're non-binary)

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a manga about a boy named Tanjiro becoming a demon slayer after his family got slaughtered by one, in turn his sister becomes a demon but actually doesn't want to fight him and tries to defend Tanjiro.

There are a lot of cliches in the manga that (at-first) made it a very enjoyable read but then just got annoyingly repetitive. one of the most common ones is the Tanjiro nice-guy role where he doesn't ever crack over the dark and harsh pressure that is his environment which makes his character feel a little bit unrealistic

Now, don't get me wrong I'm not going to discredit it that much since its a Shonen and shouldn't be something like Evangelion or Lain (it shouldn't be even close) but the manga could've done some things better imo.

There is also a LOT of character sad flashback sequences which I'll be honest a character flashback sequence would be amazing if done correctly and that's what the mangaka did at first, they had shown that the demons weren't exactly bad people they just fell for what seemed to be a Lucifer. However, the flashback sequences got so repetitive in the last arcs of the manga for almost most or every character that it made it so hard for me to read and I had a hard time paying attention.

Demon Slayer's comedy is actually extremely funny, I really liked the cursed humor that the mangaka put in (Inosuke is probably my favorite character in the manga because of this) and because of that whenever there was humor sequences it felt sudden and sudden isn't always a bad thing.

The art style is actually really good, while it isn't exactly dark it seems like an art style I would get comfortable with in a shonen manga. If I'm reading whats big for Shonen Jump I would get comfortable with seeing the art style again and thinking to myself "It's a Gotouge manga!" and it's pretty cute.

Overall, the Demon Slayer manga I feel doesn't fit as a manga that well but it fits as an anime, I like the adaptation that Ufotable did since it feels fitting and at most times better as an anime than a manga (sorry Gotouge).
