Mafia shows are always beloved by the audiences and "91 Days" is right up there in the genre. The atmosphere, the world setup, cast, story, they all mix together to make up a really enjoyable show. "91 Days" is an original show by Funimation and Crunchyroll with studio Shuka steering the animation, and the boat set sail.
From the moment it begins, the cold nature of the show spurts out. The animation and art-style complement each other setting the violent and harsh tone of every character and scene in the series. And the flow of sequences and background immerse the viewer back to the Prohibition era.
The intricate interactions that occur along the story are one of the highlights as they define many actions and decisions which makes the show more complex, in addition to a good soundtrack and some exciting revenge plot, "91 Days" makes a name for himself.
However, since it is so complex but is only a 12-episode anime, it sometimes suffers from lack of time to develop some characters or plot points deeper. Therefore, few of these actions and developments were a bit predictable or not so elaborated, which in shows like this, matter.
Nonetheless, what takes the cake is the protagonist which, driven by a revenge plot, uses his well-honed skills and cold nature to find its way through the struggles and difficulties, and cleverly navigate through a world where every miss step might cost him his life, just for the sake of achieving his goal - revenge.
