I rated this story an eight because it is very interesting, but not the most original story since many shows and movies have dealt with time relapses and such. The way they projected it in this movie though was exciting though using the one character that hates pretty much everything involved in his life.
The art was also decent but it was pretty much like the original TV show I was not astonished by any means like some other shows have done with their artistic design. If i where to compare it to any normal show then sure it has good art, but compared to recent shows like high school of the dead that have very detailed art it cannot match.
The sounds in this movie though defiently deserve a 10 because the soundtracks really bring the mood and tone in the situations that kyon felt depressed or revitaled after finding out new information.
If i could rate the character development in this though I would say the highest rating possible, because unlike the show where the characters have some development over time this really brought out some of the main characters true inner feelings. For example: Kyon is literally fighting without himself deciding on why he would want to change the world back to what it was before because he always was totally negative about anything Haruhi Suzumiya wanted to do. This monologue seriously makes you truely understand his feelings for Haruhi Suzumiya and how much he actually cares about her. Always Nagato the alien who seems to always feel no emotion at all indirectly shows alot of emotion with the whole mess that was created by her.
My overall enjoyment was just awesome I could not take my eyes off the screen for a second even though the movie was over 2 and a half hours long. Yes this seems like a long movie, but I rewatched it the next day with my brother because I enjoyed it that much.
If your enjoy watching anime that deals with the supernatural genre, yet has alot of satire then this movie will be one that you can not forget to watch.
