I can only imagine the mangaka as an old overworked sculptor of buddha, each splash page of the titular heroine is a carving, rather dissimilar to those coming before it (portraying heroine in maid bikini, portraying heroine in cat ears, portraying heroine in bunny girl costume etc.) but carrying the same spiritual energy and devout care in each and every single one of them.
To keep up with this metaphor, these wooden statues are not Buddha himself but collectively help forge the greater image of him, an incorporeal manifestation of perfection antithetical of Buddha’s primary teachings, but portraying desire in a similar forgiving light.
