This anime's plot is basically Dante getting a job and doing it. Nothing is dragged on and everything fits smoothly.
There isn't much character development, but that's alright if you've played the video games.
*SPOILER*
Dante never loses a fight; however, they do show him struggling from time to time. It's great that they made him 'weak' in the anime and he was just lazy. He is CLEARLY stronger than all of his opponents, but Dante never ends it immediately (he easily could).
