The first part of Naruto is really great. Story is basically a boy who wanted to become hokage despite having no talent. The first arc, Zabuza arc was really entertaining. Skip to the Chunnin exam, the entertaining match is Lee vs Gaara and Shikamaru's fight. Naruto is just buffed with plot armor, that's why he won against neji, kiba, literally his fights.

Art, is not the best, it's great. clean lines, clear panelling makes this manga better.

Characters itself aren't good. Yes, female casts are down bad. Naruto is just your generic MC. The cast I like is Shikamaru, Deidara, and yeah, that's all.

The essence of Naruto being 'hardwork beats talent' and 'changing his destiny', was completely destroyed when this prophecy stuff came out. I feel Lee is better for the MC, as he's someone who has 0 talent in chakra, but manage to become an amazing ninja. Even Gai(or Guy), is better for he's also in the same position as Lee.

Talk no jutsu is annoying. Good fights but ruined by these talks.

The ending makes it worse. Madara is a good villain, foreshadowed since early shipuden(?) but out of nowhere, a new character is born /yeay/

happy ending but no progress in romance section. for a manga that's 700 eps, at least they should improve the relationships betweeen characters. I feel that the only ship acceptable here is ShikaTema. the rest of the ships could rot to hell.
