Good part:
1. Pretty visuals,
2. Didn't get me bored (probably because i was watching with too much interest)
3. A tall, blonde, gorgeous big lady. The scene when she shows up is most important in the movie (since there are very few scenes). It involves a little bit of suspense, horror (for the MC), and sympathy (from the MC, although his actions are questionable.
Bad part:
1. There is not much content in the movie.only a handful of scenes. There isn't even much to spoil this movie. Its feels like a build up.
2. Characters behaved very strangely and idiotically but in bakemonogatari dialogues start making sense later on so i hope its the same case for this as well but the chances are low. MC doesn't ask relevant question to make everything mysterious like Re: Zero. MC's interaction with hanekawa isn't very interesting.
3. Some scenes maybe unnecessary and streched. There's an unnecessary scene in which the MC goes out to buy a porn magazine and making a hole in the wall (a surreal scene)..
4. Deus ex machina
5. Other minor stuff like unnecessary flashcards in french naming colur of the card. Weird character names.
I review stuff genre-wise. Since its a drama, fantasy, mystery movie, I'll briefly analyse those 3 aspects although there isn't much to talk about.
Drama: I sub divide drama into 4 categories. Story, complex/intense situations, character interactions and theme.
Story an theme:
Not enough content to comment about it.
Complex/Intense situations:
Not many convulated, intense or emotional situations in which the characters find themselves in. The closest to such a situation is when MC confronts the big lady because of conflicting emotions however its weird that no human is present to witness so much mess and commotion that must have taken place prior to the confrontation.
Characters:
Character interactions are good when it is plot relevant, interesting, clever, funny or emotional. Most Interactions are none of those. Interactions with hanekawa aren't anything special. Interaction with big lady and oshino are plot relevant but there isn't much plot. It doesn't help that the MC doesn't ask relevant questions.
Araragi's reasoning for being a loner seems pretty stupid. What he does with the big lady is pretty stupid since he is a sympathetic person but anyone with common sense would think how dangerous the big lady can be for the society considering who she is. He never asks questions about her origin, what she does etc. He also stays out of home for so long yet no one is looking for him (as of now).
Big lady doesn't tell that her request wouldn't kill the person she is seeking help from, something you should always tell the person you seek help from to convince him or her.
Oshino is mysterious as always. Hanekawa is friendly and slutty.
Fantasy: Fantasy aspect can be considered good when it is consistent and makes sense. Not much is revealed about the fantasy elements so can't comment.
Mystery: Since Araragi doesn't ask relevant questions, there is some mystery but since almost nothing is revealed and there isn't much content, mystery element is very basic like character motivations, Fantasy elemtents etc. Not something that you are invested in.
