Before i start this review; Names will be changed (character names) in this review. The main character will be named Leo.

On one fateful day, Leo meets a nurse named Amy, who is a 10? (12?,14?) year old nun who Leo decides to protect because he is awesome like that. However, the relevance of Amy to the plot in the episodes quickly degenerate after her major story arc, which is really disappointing. Amy still sticks around with Leo because Amy is under the impression that Leo is loaded (he isn't really, the show tells us enough times). Other notable characters are

Mike (a less-than-friendly mage who tags along with Leo in a few episodes)
Victor (he is named Victor because he pretty much wins every fight he gets into. His story branches off from Leo's in a later episode)
Nicola (notable because she continues to interact with Leo throughout the series and she also gets her own story/show)

Also if you do not like the character Leo I strongly suggest that you drop/stay away from this show because he is literally everywhere in this show. I think he doesn't appear at all only in one of the episodes.

The rest of the characters are there to (poorly) explain the plot and how science/magic works in the universe depicted. Or they are just crazy ass villains. The villains are not given much motives or characterization and basically disappear after their time is done

Speaking of the plot, the conflict between science and magic is never really explained enough in this show. It would be best to assume that the two sides are natural rivals like Tom and Jerry (the cartoon) when you are watching this series. Also there was something about the Catholic Church in this anime and how Amy is connected to them. Conflict between only the Catholic Church and the city of science known as Academy City seems like a possibility as well. However, the story in this show is split into mini arcs, with Leo appearing to be neutral sided as he goes around saving victims of science and magic.

The art in this series was not the greatest that you will see but it cannot be faulted. Character designs looked pretty boss and backgrounds were cool as well.

Again, the music will not be the best thing that you will ever hear but the two opening themes and ending theme were pretty damn catchy. Voice acting suited the characters well but you might find Amy's voice to be a bit high pitched and annoying (maybe).

Despite the problems with the confusing plot, I enjoyed this show. I guess it was because the show didn't try to do too much, there were some comedic moments but there weren't too many to distract from the seriousness that this show generally exerts to the audience. The world that this anime was set in and the mysterious nature of the conflict between science and magic also interested me and kept me watching through until the end.

In conclusion, I would recommend this show to anyone who doesn't really mind a confusing plot or poorly characterized villains. This show likely has enough to keep you interested until the end.
