This novel had a great anti-sexism prologue, and then in chapter 1 it becomes the most sexist light novel I've ever read. The huge difference is actually impressive. It goes from an inner monologue saying that it's wrong to fall in love with someones face, all the way to the protagonist actually falling in love with a girls balloon boobies. Oh the irony. Not only that, a 27 year old adult starts dating a 15 year old. In Japan that might be normal, but in my country just owning this book might actually be illegal...
Story: At first, the story is just a typical romance novel, boy and girl go on dates, have lunch together and even have sleepovers. The boy tries to look more mature, like wearing a suit (his dads) and the woman tries to look younger by wearing a school uniform. It's an adorable, romantic tale. The only problem is the fact that it's a story about a pedophile.
Art: The woman has such ridiculous boobs that the illustrations looks absolutely ridiculous. There's no other word in the dictionary to describe it. Ridiculous. Other than that, the art is surprisingly nice. The fingers especially look very clear, which is pretty rare. The woman's hair is also quite nice. Too bad that there are balloons in her shirt.
Characters: No Comment. The woman is a pedophile.
Overall. This story almost feels like it's a racist joke on twitter. If it's just funny enough people might ignore the fact that it's racist, and instead laugh and enjoy it. Right? Totally logical. So, this grown woman pretends to be in high school to get herself an underage boyfriend. Totally hilarious, let's ignore the obvious pedo flaws and laugh instead. That's the mentality you would need to enjoy this story. But to me, a racist joke is always racism, and never a joke. If you are a teenage boy and have fantasies about being with an older woman, you should give this book a try. Other than that, I cannot for the love of god recommend this to anyone. And I hope this series will be banned.
PS: I do believe that because the woman PRETEND to be younger, it's not okay, she pretend that what she's doing it okay.
But if a teenage boy likes their high school teacher, then the age gap is obvious. Would still be wrong, but (to me) morally acceptable.
