Princess Mononoke is a film that everyone needs to see. I'm not going to say that every detail in this film was perfect but there's so many things about this movie that makes it special and unique. First of all, I loved how each of the characters had their own stories that made them different. The main character Ashitaka almost represents the audience themselves and their desires. Everything he does is something that perfectly reflected something that I would have done in the film. Then the film's aesthetics are still as interesting as ever. The journey we go through is beautifully mystical. Some of the characters introduced provide a sense of comfort and enjoyment despite the conflict. And even in the rushing moments the elements crafted around the movie are beautiful.
And the message that the film provides is absolutely stunning. Some people may say, "Oh no, no war! Wow, you really made your claim there" But it's more than just no war. How about no hate, or even no thinking of hating. You see the characters that introduce their pessimistic stance on life at the beginning of the film gradually change near the end of the film.
