Preliminary (6/12 eps)
When I got this anime I had high hopes and high expectations, but the show turned out to be another Dragon Ball Z.

The story is mainly about two people (in ancient times) having to collect a series of 12 swords to help prevent a rebellion against the current government of Japan. One of these two people (Shichika) is a martial artist who takes the roll of a sword/weapon to help protect and fight for Togame. After fighting a supposedly powerful ninja, their journey begins.

The art is fairly plain, but when you have to make 45 minute episodes, the art is probably going to be less focused on so the story and backgrounds of the characters can be brought into the light.

When I said it was like another Dragon Ball Z, I was referring to when one of the characters jumps up really high and then says a few paragraphs of dialogue before their attack finally hits.... that's the kind of likeness I was referring to. The dialogue was spoken fairly fast all the time, but not only that, but also had so much to say so quickly, forcing me to pause quite a bit so I can actually keep up with the story.

The characters didn't really have a lot of development to them. Even though there is a lot of dialogue, there isn't much character development given. The dialogues quite often are about fighting styles and it gets very repetitive and downright boring after a while. 10 minutes of dialogue and 30 seconds of action... isn't really my cup of tea.

Even though I only saw half of the series, I would say that I have had some enjoyment watching this show. It had some unique ideas and it was placed in a historical setting, making me want to learn more about that time in history and the way the traditions were back then. But I found myself getting bored a lot, 40 minutes of dialogue and planning isn't really something I enjoy.

Overall, I think this show was good. It had some unique perspectives through out, but the over use of dialogue is apparent. There are pros and cons, but in the end the show is good and worth giving a try, but whether it deserves more than an attempt to watch, is entirely up to you.
