Man, what a ride. A cowboypunk sci-fi comedy that evolves to being a more straight up western with almost shakespearean tragedy and personal drama.
Vash, Wolfwood, Legato, Millie... such good characters. I looked forward to every episode, from the early ones where you knew there was something more beneath the surface of the goofball in the red coat to the end where you just were awash in the trauma.
Kind of always wanted a Cowboy Bebop/Outlaw Star crossover. They all came from such a cool time.
Story: 8 it took a bit to get going while we just had fun with the weird world
Art: 8 it hasn't aged great, but certain things were iconic, and the design of the guns, the sci-fi western aesthetic... pretty freaking good.
Sound: 10 I loved the western themes, the quirky bullet sounds, the voices...
Character: 10 I gushed about a few of them up front
Enjoyment: 9 Loved it, though a few episodes were punishing and the pacing was just shy of perfect.
