Plot-A well paced plot convinces me to watch the show or not.Despite one special episode(which was okay-ish), each and everything in the story is laid out perfectly and at the perfect time.The only thing that might kill the mood for a mystery anime was that the last 2 episodes were more like a rom-com (stress on rom) which was technically expected yet the subtle change in the tone from mystery to love mystery might disappoint some.The story is quite realistic on that part and characters are fairly likable and understandable.But what seperates it from the other anime that are slice of life and about schools are the way it is represented.I like how both the protagonist duel are so separate in nature -one who is too curious and one who is too "lazy"(though that's not a fitting word) to do anything.
One subject of plot let me get this straight I guess 90% of people who have actually come across the name of this anime and reading my review would surely like the plot points of the anime however story of a loner with less or no friends might not fell good to all, just keep that in mind.
Art-Man this is tough where to start... I love how hotaro's sister is so caring and knows her brother too well yet unlike some stupid studios who just shows the girl to make her waifus of some Kyoto animation skipped and only showed her persona and its effect on main character hotaro.I like how every side character is taken care of in art style.You look at the person and you know ther basic traits.
Sound- For a mystery show sound is every important as the open threads of the mystery it is about to represent.The sound is classy and elegent at times when needed, stops when it is not.Kyoto really did a good job in this department.
