First review, not gonna be too lengthy. This slaps though, really underrated. Here's why I like it.

Story:
This is isn't some woke out of this world philosophical I'm 14 and this is deep type story, but it's good. A bunch of strong as people sentenced to death are sent to an island to find the mysterious elixir of life for a chance at redemption. It's like a fantasy battle royale type thing, (No not Fortnite) with a good power system and great fighting scenes.

Of course there is more to it than that. The character development is actually quite good, especially for the genre. But I'm not trying to give anything away so if you're not feeling it after like 5 chapters maybe drop it.

Art:
This for me is one of it's strongest aspects of this series. I don't normally read fighting manga due to the fact that most of the time I've personally found it a bit difficult for myself to follow the panels. (I'm probably just stupid) But this is one of my few exceptions. This guys art is so well done, everything just flows so nicely.
I never felt confused and was able to fully enjoy what was happening.
The fighting sequences are so well choreographed, it feels like there's a lot of weight and purpose in every attack. The world is extremely immersive, with lots of highly detailed jungle scenery, caves, creepy sculptures and ancient architecture.

Characters:
Honestly these characters are pretty solid. Normally it's just the MC that gets the spotlight and everyone else is just filler. Not with this. Gabimaru is a G and all, but if I'm being honest, I found myself liking one of the side characters more. This isn't to say that he's bad, but I think most of the characters were really likeable. They all had their own character development throughout the series, with a pretty even showtime, which made the story feel a lot richer despite the perhaps generic Shonen plot.

Overall: 8.5/10
This to me does feel like a top tier manga. It's not a life changing read, but I do think this can go along side some of the big boys.

I can't personally think of anything that bad to say about this series. Just don't go into it expecting crazy romance and philosophy. Enjoy it for what it is, and I think you'll be entertained. Later cuh
