Attack on Titan was a great manga. The racism, seeking for freedom, slavery featuring themes are intriguing. Amazing story with its mind-bending mystery. Well-written characters with their motivations that could blow your mind and feel sympathy. Great actions and its unique ways to tackle problems.

But this was until Isayama ruined his very own writing after chapter 123. I don’t have any idea what has happened to him that made him so. Experiencing burnout? Wanting to finish AoT asap? His writing downgraded, I would say everything after chapter 123 was mediocre at best. At the very least, I could read those without so much being pissed off by the mediocre writing and Marvel-like actions.

Eren became an evil man that mass murdered almost all people around the world with his titan squad and here he had two besties that would stop him and killed him so they would be honoured as the saviours of the world later on. But what’s the point? Eren had no concreate plan on that actually, no rigid motivation that used to push him to do this and that. He was doing this because what we learned from chapter 138 and that is the reason this Rumbling happened. Ridiculous.

Though I know that tries to intend that small decision could bring you to the fatal things, this sounds too ridiculous because from the start, romance thingy is not the main part of the story, not the kind of things that could make this happen. (Free to educate me about this romance thingy on AoT, I said so based on what I concluded with my own understanding.)

And here is Armin. He is my comfort character from this manga, there are some parts of him that I like as a character. He was genius and often came up with brilliant ideas to tackle problems Survey Corps had. He had blown my mind several times. But after time skip? His character is ruined :D, thank you, Isayama, thank you. His character has no development after time skip; instead, he regressed as a character and this bawls my eyes out. Isayama tried to make his character like a messiah, but that irked me so bad to the point I see his character as other shounen typical characters. And what the fuck he was thanking Eren for mass murdering almost the entire world’s population? He was so insane, there is nothing to be thanked for, Armin. Or are you just being sarcastic? This makes me double thinking.

I would pretend I don’t know this Armin.

And Mikasa’s character development is just somewhat rushed. And other characters don’t get much of the screen, they are underdeveloped.

The ending is one of worst ending I’ve ever seen. All the astounding things this manga has for years all become nothing. All the comrades’ sacrifices become meaningless. The entire story leads us to no conclusion. It doesn’t try to answer questions people have on their minds, it resolves nothing.

I don’t hate Isayama for what happened to the last chapter, I am just disappointed by this, my rating score already tells you how much I am.
