Preliminary (4/11 eps)
Story and Character Development
Through 4 episodes we are already seeing some great character and story development. Diaichi has seen his rather boring life turn into something more worth while. He has so far sacrificed his time with his friends and coworkers, he's trying his best to learn about raising a child and even has gone as far to request a transfer to an easier going job in order to raise Rin properly. He's even convinced some of his family members to be more accepting of Rin, but still they hold some reservations as to whether Diaichi can raise a child or not; prompting them to question him whether he is really going to raise Rin or not. Diaichi himself seems to also question himself wondering if contacting his maternal mother would be best for Rin and probably him. Rin's development has been a bit more slower, though she has made friends and is learning "fast" as Diaichi soon finds out. Rin is always questioning, trying to find answers herself and slow turning into a more sociable child. Things a child would normally do. If you have ever raised a child or lived with one, you know what I'm talking about. Still she has her own fears, not knowing whether she wants to meet her mother or not. Both characters are struggling to find answers to situations that they find difficult to deal with. There are quite a few other developments, but I think that's best left for the viewer to find out. I have to say I am quite intrigued and am closely following this show.

The art has grown on me more, either that or it has gotten considerably better. Either way it's actually pretty good for such a show like this, including the funny faces Rin makes. It's very simplistic, but it works. The water "colory" feel is still there, but I seem to remember it being a lot more watery "colory."

The music is fairly ambient, setting up the mood for the viewer. I'm not to fond of the opening and closing songs, but I guess it does get the job done.

I gotta say I enjoy this show. It has a very warm and fuzzy feeling around it. You really do get to like the characters and hate some like that annoying little girl with the pigtails, but anyways, they are strong, human and likeable. I can't say more about the story, it's just great, now I can't wait for the next episode it really is that good. Just go ahead and watch it if you want something to warm you up or else you can watch some other crappy show like Blood C.
