“I’m selfish, I know. But to keep you only mine, I will do everything I need to do, even if it’s illegal.” – The most batshit bitch of the entire fucking millenium

Note: This is my opinion, so please, if there are any Mirai Nikki heads who are watching this who suck off Yuno because she is a girl that no man would ever get in his entire life, please click off this; because this can be a review where I could go absolutely overboard on than needed; so without, further adue, let's get into this review!

Ah, Mirai Nikki, I watched this anime over a year ago now, and that's only because of my brother; who was pretty much the first anime fan in my house before me, he recommended me Mirai Nikki, searched it up and it came up as "Future Diary", this was around 2018 maybe, at a push 2017 - and to be honest, I wish I didn't fucking watch it just beacues of some parts of this anime.

When I got around to reading the synopsis it most certainly catched my eye and it was an interesting conecpt due to the fact that it was a "survival game", and it is about a boy who is very much addicted to his phone called Yukiteru Amano and whatnot and is friends with someone called Deys Ex Machina, but I will get into that later on in the review.

If you like batshit anime girls who protect you for when someone steals your cookie jar, look no forward to Mirai Nikki, or also known as in the English version: Future Diary!

This is an review that does, in fact have spoilers; but I already made a disclaimer that if you are a Mirai Nikki fanboy/fangirl/fanattackhelicopter please click the fuck off of this review because I'm about to go deep.

Gradually, this anime just got worse, however I could cope through the absolute fucking dumpster fire of this anime because of one single thing that was very, very interesting:

Gasai Yuno.

Gasai Yuno is a school girl who the main character met in the first episode, who also has the same sort of phone as the MC, oh yeah, in case if you haven't heard yet the main character has a flip phone and keeps note in his little diary - thus making him addicted to it; and one day got entrapped inside a survival game, if you break the phone, you die. Simple, right? Nah, shit got me complicated a bit after.

These competitiors have specific diaries, one has a diary who looks upon the entire competitiors of the game, and the MC has a diary that records movements of someone, and then this batshit anime girl called Gasai Yuno records the movements of the fucking main character; and this bitch enjoys that. Yuno Gasai is the "star of the show" for some, the main source of fanservice for some as well, and when I talk about that demographic, it's just horny neckbeards.

To start off with my praise, there is literally little to no praise when it comes to giving this anime a full on critique - as a critique is something you have to give both negativity and positivity. I can't really come around to giving the actual story a praise, as the story is absolutely fucking poor and lacks so much aspect, not to mention the character development and the way they act, a key example here is Yuno and her fucking annoying personality screaming the protagonists name every single fucking second she comes within a 10 mile radius of him, but that's besides the point; the only "good" parts of this anime is the sound and the art, the opening and ending is pretty good, so it's a shame that the opening and ending was used on an anime like this.

Hearing Yuno just scream the main characters name in such a way just made my braincells disintegrate gradually, I don't really like yanderes for the most part, but Jesus fuck, there are better yanderes than this son of a bitch, I would rather have a fucking hawk scream in my ear than her screaming Yuki's name over and over again.

With the art though, that's an overstatement, however I don't care - all around the art is pretty good yet doesn't fit the tone and genre of the anime which is supposed to be a mystery and horror type anime, which kills the mood and atmosphere, the main aim of an anime is to fit the mood of the genre that you are aiming for. This is not a good example, and it doesn't set the tone very well of the anime and that's what made me not enjoy the anime as much.

There were so much times in the anime where it completely ruins the atmosphere, during a scene when it build suspense it just kills the entire mood - thsi anime had so much potential to fit the mood, even if it was a shit anime, at least it had an attempt to set the mood but this just deliberately killed the entire mood and premise of the anime.

If I had a choice between Deku... and the main character, I would actually favour Deku than this piece of horse shit, at least in some moments of My Hero Academia (I don't fucking know how I am making this a prime example but bare with me for a moment) Deku at some points utilizes his quirk, which is the strongest quirk(ish, maybe a bit of an overstatement but it can be arguably the best quirk in MHA) in the anime, with Yuki - people can pass off his diary as the strongest diary as it predicted the future, or one of the strongest, as that fucking dictator-wannabe who fits the part for ruling a Fascist dictatorship has, in my humble opinion, the strongest diary - as he "created" the game, but he didn't, he just pitched the idea; the directors did an absolute god awful job trying to write this character, no character development, at all - maybe a little bit of character development, however. This fucking child does not utilize his diary well and puts it in his arsenal, however, because of plot armor he still manages to get somewhere in the end of the anime.

Yuno is a good reason why I pretty much hate this anime, however for some people she can be the main attraction to most people when it comes to the anime but again, once I said: I am not a big fan of yanderes by any means but Yuno Gasai is the face of yandere, if someone asks you a question asking to list one yandere character in one anime I guarantee you that you would say Yuno Gasai from Future Diary; you can literally pass this bitch off as the main character and that would make me pissed beyond relief because she is annoying as fuck, however that is what makes Mirai Nikki more interesting because it's a thing we don't really see in anime and that is a batshit yandere who devotes her life to one person, but let me say this, poor choice of men; because Yuki is a fucking pussy that I can bet my index finger can even beat him in a fist fight and that even might be an understatement, a bodybuilders presence can drop him in an instant.

The rest of the characters didn't catch my eye, the diary holders were laughably terrible (spoilers might be incoming), a fucking infant who has the ability to most likely commit arson and a massive Power Rangers ripoff, in my humble opinion if that fucking eye tried to save me I'd just let the villain kill me because there is no way that eye will be saving my ass.

However, Minene was my favourite character overall. I liked her, she was pretty cool and caught my eye throughout the anime.

After all is said than done, personally, Mirai Nikki is one massive clusterfuck; however did catch my enjoymenet and it was unique in some points, however it doesn't fit the genre, the character development is terrible, the art and soundtrack was the only best parts of the anime and the anime does have some scenes that can make it have potential and live up to the genre that it was aiming for then it just got killed, essentially a kiss and then a slap in the face.

At the end of the day, this is my opinion and I don't want to get crucified by a Mirai Nikki fan because this review is opinion-based, if you like it, you like it.

5/10 beacuse I am feeling generous, I gave that out of pity, I don't usually give pity points to an anime but there you go.
