Mixed Feelings
I'm lettin' y'all know: giving this season a six is generous. It was *hard* to get through this season for a lot of reasons. It's like, you start it and kind of think it's going to turn out okay or get better, but it just *doesn't.*

It'll be easier if I talk about the positives first. So, there were pretty interesting dark points to this anime. They were very short lived, but the plot pieces that decided to delve into the darkest parts of these characters or tell a really messed up story were pretty good. Probably because they were reminiscent of the first season. That's kind of... all I have to say for positive points.

Why did this season suck? Well, first of all, it was way too fast-paced. Second of all, nobody's motivations were laid out properly. The story was completely, and unnecessarily, convoluted; the way it ended was rushed and, frankly, unsatisfying. There's a lot I could go into if I were to spoil the season, but it just felt mediocre. It was too fluffy for The Promised Neverland. All the grit from the first season was nearly gone, and it felt like no attention was paid to proper character and plot development. Basically, there was a beginning and an end to this season, and as long as the two were connected, it didn't appear to matter how they were connected.

At the end of the day, it was a disappointing follow up to killer first season, and it's sad because it appears the anime decided to rush the ending to exclude any possibility of a third season, so there isn't a chance for it to be redeemed. We'll always have the awesomeness of the first season, though, so I won't say this entire series was negative; I just wish it had ended better.
