Story - 6/10: The story of this anime is interesting and will keep you watching, yet it gets a bit repetitive after a few episodes, as an example, this is how most episodes of this series go, "Nene's friend, Aoi will tell her a new school mystery story she's heard recently, talk to Nene about how much she oddly has started to like the supernatural stories she tells her, Nene tells Hanako and Kou the supernatural story, they go fight the supernatural in question.". Luckily, there are a few charming interactions here and there that make the show worth watching.
Art - 9/10: The art in this series is absolutely amazing, it fits the story well and is almost identical to the manga's art, yet there is a little something that throws me off about it. Some characters are very brightly colored and cheery-looking (examples being Nene, Aoi, and Mitsuba) and some of them are very darkly colored and eerie looking (an example is the Mermaid), which I find a bit odd, but I think it fits the cutesy yet dark theme of the show.
Characters - 8/10: The characters in this series are very likable, with a few being annoying sometimes, but they don't fill you with as much hate as other anime characters may. Nene, the protagonist, is a nice, boy crazy gardener, which may seem like an odd combination, but it works well. Many characters in this series, like Nene, have odd combinations of character traits that surprisingly work well.
Enjoyment - 7/10: I found this show very entertaining to watch, with fight scenes that are comprehendible and likable characters, there are only small details I'd change, but besides that, I think it's a good series!
Overall - 7/10: This anime was a rollercoaster of both emotions and development. Although this first season seems a bit rushed compared to it's source material, I still recommend this series!
TL;DR - Although this series may seem odd at first, once you watch it, it'll bring you a very interesting anime!
