Clannad (Anime) add (All reviews)
Jun 29, 2011
Hello! This is acutally my first ever review I am doing, so
I am pretty excited xD

My first view of Clannad was that it looked like a childish type of due to
kiddy like artwork and paired with BIG eyes. So I shrugged off watching it. But
recently I had a strong urge to fall in love with a romantic story and I
couldn't be happier to have picked this one. If an anime could change
the life of one, I think that this would be the one.

The story started normally with the main male leading meeting the most
extraordinary girl which sparked the revolution of his screwed up life.
It would seem that he needed her help to get his life straight as much as
she needed him to curb her introverted nature. In the process of helping
her out he managed to open himself and in turn, made new friends and
strengthened the bonds of his present ones.

So a large story was unfolding, explaining the backgrounds of each
character. This gave a typical but yet different type of school life genre.
At the same time occasional events in a totally different world in another
dimension popped out in the begins or ends of some episodes which were
strangely but familiarly linked to the present story. This gave a small
sense of supernatural factor to the series and laid down the foundation of
what is yet to come.

With an interesting progress of the series of events, this anime gripped
a hold on me and before I knew it, i found myself staying up late at night
just get to the end of the present chapter. Also, the pace of the story
was well appropriate and with a whole chunk of 24 episodes, it gave me
a feeling of content that story still had much more.

The artwork of the anime really took me by surprise. Despite its simple
nature, it beautifully portrayed the feels and cuteness of each
individual character. The curve of the cheeks that made you just want to
get in there and give it a gentle pinch...and the eyes which expression of
joy and sadness was unlike any other of its kind. Apart from the visuals, the soundtracks were perfectly fit into the melody of the story. I like Dango Daikazoku so much I added it to my playlist xD.

Overall I feel that Clannad is a must watch for the Diehard romance fans and I googled the word "Clannad" and found out that it meant "family" which was a nice touch to the name :)
