Is Season 2 a masterpiece like Season 1? Definitely not. Is it bad? Nope.
****Spoilers, Obviously***
The main issue is the transition from episode 4 to episode 5. One episode, the kids are running trying to learn to survive in the wilderness and the next they are walking around in demon towns in disguises. The reintroduction of Norman felt rushed and disappointing. His return would've felt more meaningful if he wasn't brought back 4 episodes after he 'died.'
Being an anime only, I thought they the author gave up on the second season or the anime skipped a lot of content. Reading about how they skipped an entire arc confirmed my suspicions. If you get past episode 5 and pretend it never happened, Season 2 is a pretty good show.
The take away: The time skip was extremely jarring and disruptive to the story and combined with the premature return of Norman, makes what's suppose to be the most meaningful episodes less enjoyable than they should be.
