The First episode was one of the worst anime episodes I've ever seen but the show honestly grew on me as it went on. But to be honest if I hadn't read what the plot actually was then I wouldn't know what was actually happening. Everyone says you need to watch it multiple times but I shouldn't have to watch a show 3-4 times to understand the basic plot. And trust me I was paying as much attention as possible and in the end I still had to look up what the show was about. On top of that Naota's father is super annoying and extremely weird and I especially hated the manga box art that popped up in the first and last episode. I only really started to enjoy the show when I turned my brain off and just enjoyed what I was looking at. I think the show works best when you just zone off and don't try to think so hard about its "deep meaning" that everyone says it has. It sucks that I felt really bummed out when trying to figure out the story because I love the art style and music that the show uses, I think its a very unique experience, but in the end there's just to much to understand with no explanation from the anime, the anime itself even knows it confusing.
Anyways you might like it, you might not, but I wouldn't watch trying to figure everything out as it happens. I believe if you really want to know the story like that then you can do the whole re watch thing but if you just want to vibe out and enjoy the visuals I think that's best. Also that outro song is badass!
