The Internet has turned us into savage beasts. You look at websites like Facebook and Youtube and a lot of times all we do is make fun of people or get into huge fights. And most of the time we do it because the other person doesn't know who the other person is.

The concept of OZ in "Summer Wars" is a lot like Facebook or Youtube. You create avatars to hide your identity and interact with other mysterious people's avatars. And every now and then, one of those avatars becomes a killer virus hell bent on destroying the entire world!

The protagonist is swept away with the girl he likes to her giant families home in the country side. Thinking this could be his chance, he goes along with it, but the biggest surprise awaits him when he finally arrives. Just like the Digimon movie, the director tells a story of humans battle with an evil computer virus is also the story for this film. But he also talks about the value of family, and how important family is. Big families have always been a favorite of mine in anime or movies. And "Summer Wars" has the melancholy family feeling, still providing awesome monsters killing each other in a virtual world were you can conjure up a sword that can shoot lighting bolts just by pressing a few buttons. God bless the Internet!

Take care everyone.
