That being said, i've had a practical idea. Instead of furiously rant into an extensive explanation of why i think this show is below average. I'll objetively state it's qualities in a sort of list and i'll let you decide whether it's something you like or not.
Here we go:
* The colors are very dark. It's almost always nighttime, the lightning is always dim, etc. You get the picture.
* It contains a decent amount of blood and sadism.
* Both the lead and the anthagonist act totally badass.
* There isn't a clear plotline. A lot of stuff will happen, but the connection between every event is unclear.
* Char development is decent. You will learn about some of the lead and support chars past, their motivations, and their relationships.
* It contains some humour. Mostly you will laugh at Alucard's confidence and sarcasm.
* There is no balance between talk / fights. Some eps the characters will almost only fight, and some episodes they will mostly talk. 18/22 minutes either way i would say.
* The weaponry used in the fights is quite varied.
I think that's it. Those are the mayor characteristic in this show.
