Nevertheless, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll regret watching this. I'd describe Tonikaku Kawaii as a series about an average(ish) man marrying and doing date stuff with an "ideal" anime waifu, and that's it. The series is as superficial as it gets and believe it or not some people, including myself, wouldn't mind watching that.
What makes Tonikaku Kawaii slightly better than other mediocre shows is that it at least puts some effort into creating a deeper narrative within the series and the story gives you the sense that it leads somewhere. basically it's not just random things every episode. This deeper narrative is simple and isn't developed during the series that much. But, in my opinion, it makes the show a little more interesting anyway.
At the end of the day, Tonikaku Kawaii is a show that is slightly cringe, has basically no interesting characteristics yet still manages to provide a reasonably entertaining romantic comedy.
