The plot is very good and historically accurate as an anime can about prohibition can get. Almost all characters have a clear motive and a fairly well developed character.
The music and sound have a purpose instead of being an addition to the anime. The intro and ending soundtrack is used to emotionally manipulate the viewer at the end of the anime and even gives hints as to what's to come. However its not used until the very end.
There are times where you can see some animation "glitches". Like in some places the pupils are asymmetrical or characters will sometimes merge with whatever they are eating. But those are rare instances and only visible if you look for them
