The story is about Kyosuke, ordinary high school student, his almost perfect sister Kirino. Due to a timely "bump with each other", Kyosuke discovers his sisters unimaginable other life, an otaku. Thus the beginning of the story of a brother protecting his sister and her hobbies.
Though maybe typical, no excitement at all story, it is actually what made it(for me) special. No need for exaggerated characters at all, no need for climatic plot or anything that makes on the edge of their seats. Just simple life problems that we all could relate.
Another thing is the opening song. Way too addictive.
I suggest try watching it at first. If you still don't like it then let it be. I also suggest watch the true route for those who wanted to know a different ending.
